A 60-foot-wide sinkhole formed under a resort in central Florida late Sunday, forcing guests out of their rooms as one three-story building collapsed and another slowly sank.
If someone told you there was a way to decrease crime, keeps kids in school, and provide the government with more money to invest in those schools, you'd probably be all for it. Luckily, Colorado residents were. The legalization of marijuana will net nearly $30 million in marijuana taxes for the state in 2014. With $19 million in recreational marijuana sold in the month of March alone, $1.9 million of that goes straight to the government for worthy causes such as public schools.
The first marijuana stores opened their doors January 1st, 2014, and since that date crime has dropped by over 10%. (Loosely related, Dunkin Donuts is expanding like crazy in the state.) With less illegal drugs being sold, it's safe to say that there is in turn less conflict. With crime down, the government has the potential to spend less money on crime prevention and more money on infrastructure.
